Now that weddings are allowed to go ahead with smaller numbers in Northern Ireland there are still some restrictions and guidelines in place to protect us all. The above link takes you to the most up to date government guidance re weddings, please make sure to read it and familiarise yourself with it before your wedding day.
What does this mean for your wedding photography?
ultimately we will still document your wedding the way we normally do, as it naturally happens catching all those little moments and big emotions. certain parts of your day may look slightly different to how weddings were before covid ( social distancing) and guidelines may mean we need to just take some extra care for certain situations.
Throughout the day we will be wearing face coverings, carry hand sanitiser, wash our hands as frequently as possible and adhere to social distancing guidelines of at least 1M ( 2m if possible) we will also wipe down equipment at various points of the day.
Pre ceremony/prep
The photographer cannot come to your house if there are more than 6 people already present. The Regulations state that only 6 people can meet indoors in a residential property with social distancing in place. This includes all occupants and visitors.
Details - to minimise contact we will not be touching any of your belongings ie your dress/suits, shoes etc. If you would like details photographed please have them hung up/ laid out for us to photograph in a separate room with a window. we may ask a member of your household to help us move items.
Ceremony
throughout ceremonies we keep a big distance anyway as it’s the most sacred part of the day. we will wear face coverings and use hand sanitiser
signing of the register - if this takes place in a separate room we can photograph it provided there are less than 6 people present
confetti - generally this would encourage too many people to be in close contact we therefore discourage you from having it unless it is with a small group of people from your households that can mix ( ie your immediate family or bridal party)
receiving line - the government guidelines advise against this unless you are able to practice social distancing
Recepetion
bridal party photographs - depending on households that can mix etc we will be exercising social distancing re photographing your bridal party together/with you, we will also keep this as short as possible
couple portraits - we will be practicing social distancing throughout our time with you and keep this part as short as possible
Family photographs we are unable to set up and direct group photos of mixed households not adhering to social distancing, if you would like family photographs taken please list them in the QUESTIONNAIRE sent to you, these groupings must follow the guidelines re households/bubbles and be kept to immediate family only. please appoint a member of your bridal party to be in charge of knowing the groupings/people so that they can easily be rounded up and help organise people on the day
big group photo due to social distancing restrictions we are unable to photograph all your guests together in a big group photo
dancing - communal dancing is not allowed we are therefore unable to photograph this portion of the day. we are able to photograph your first dance if you are choosing to do this.
